Reception logo size cannot be decided from wall width alone. A large wall may have doors, furniture or decorative features that change what a visitor actually sees. Review size, position and background together.
Identify the visitor’s first view
Stand at the entrance and photograph the desk and full wall. Take another photo from the waiting area or approach route. Is the logo seen directly or at an angle? Could a screen, plant or seated person obscure it?
Do not automatically centre the logo on the entire wall. It may work better aligned with the reception desk or the visible part of the background. Ask the designer to explain the proposed position on a site photo.
Consider the complete logo composition
A logo may contain a symbol, business name and short description, with horizontal and vertical versions. Review the approved version that fits without stretching or compressing it. Shrinking every element is not always the answer when a long name meets a narrow space.
Discuss another approved brand arrangement, or a revised layout with the brand owner’s agreement. Leave space around the logo so that it remains distinct instead of occupying the whole wall simply because the area is available.
Compare two sizes before deciding

Ask to see two options on the site photo with dimensions shown. Where practical, try a full-size paper layout using a method that will not damage the wall. Review it from the entrance and from the desk, as its scale can feel different in the actual space.
This exercise helps assess size and placement; it is not an exact simulation of materials or lighting. Review the finish and colour separately using an appropriate reference.
Review the background and illumination
Use the actual wall colour in the review, especially if the decision is sensitive to colour. Notice cladding joints and decorative details behind the lettering. Discuss ambient lighting and any shadows or reflections at the proposed position.
If the logo will be illuminated, coordinate its position and required preparation before completing the background. A late decision may affect work already planned or finished.
What should the final approval include?
- Overall width and height with the logo proportions preserved.
- Position relative to the desk and wall boundaries.
- Material, finish and colour reference.
- Whether illumination is included.
- An approved site photo or placement drawing.
Reception logo size: review it within the full wall
Reception logo size is not determined by wall width alone. Viewing distance, furniture height, lighting position and surrounding clear space all affect the result, so the logo should be reviewed on a photo or elevation before approval.
- Measure the actual wall width and height.
- Mark eye level and the visitor entry point.
- Show furniture, screens and electrical outlets.
- Request a mock-up with the surrounding clear space visible.
A site-based mock-up prevents the logo from feeling isolated or overcrowded and helps keep the reception composition balanced.
When completing your review of reception logo size and placement, collect decisions, dimensions and approvals in one dated file. Share the same version with the designer, fabricator and site contact, and record later changes clearly. This gives the project a reviewable basis and prevents older information or artwork from returning during production.
